Sinkhole opens up and swallows car as Storm Christoph batters Manchester

A residential street buckled and a sinkhole opened up
A car fell into a huge sinkhole caused by Storm Christoph's torrential rain and thick snow.
The hole was around four metres wide and opened up on a residential street last night after the road apparently buckled.
Since then authorities have removed the car and cordoned off the road in Gorton, Manchester , with emergency services staying at the scene.
Police spoke with nearby residents and Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue helped with pulling the vehicle out. It is unknown whether anyone was injured.
