Salmon exporters warn of red tape after Brexit

Scottish salmon farming chiefs have warned the UK Government its Brexit policy is likely to place “huge unnecessary burdens” on Britain's biggest food export.
Currently, salmon exports to the EU do not need export health certificates due to continued free movement of goods between Britain and the economic bloc.
But it is “inevitable” these exports will need EHCs after the end of this year, when the Brexit transition phase ends, because of the government's decision not to align with EU rules in the future, the Scottish Salmon Producers' Organisation said yesterday.
