The UK government will pay 50% of British diners' bills when they eat out in August. Here's everything we know about the COVID-19 support scheme, and how to make the most of it

UK Chancellor Rishi Sunak has announced that the government will pay 50% of diners' bills during August when they eat at an eligible restaurant, pub, or café.
The Eat Out to Help Out scheme , which applies to meals on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, is part of a wider package of support to support the hospitality sector, which has been hammered by the COVID-19 crisis.
Customers will pay half price, and businesses will claim the rest of the money from the government.
