Chancellor Philip Hammond has suggested he could vote to bring down his own Tory government if Boris Johnson pursues a no-deal Brexit. In a further ramping up of pressure on Johnson ahead of his expecting crowning as prime minister next week, Hammond said he would “do everything from the backbench to make sure that parliament blocks a disorderly Brexit”. The chancellor also appeared to take aim at Brexiteers on his own side, who he described as “very loud, rude and inconsiderate” in an interview with Le Monde and Süddeutsche Zeitung. UK chancellor doesn't rule out future no-confidence vote against Boris Johnson

U.K. Chancellor Philip Hammond said he will not rule out a no-confidence motion to bring down a Boris Johnson-led government and stop a no-deal Brexit.
“I will take steps to avoid an exit without agreement apart from an explicit parliamentary approval,” Hammond told Le Monde and Süddeutsche Zeitung in an interview published Friday.
“There should be a new and sincere attempt to reach a consensus. If we do not find a solution with the members, we may have to ask the British to give their opinion again, in one form or another.”

Chancellor refuses to rule out supporting no-confidence motion to stop no-deal Brexit Philip Hammond has suggested he is prepared to vote to bring down a Boris Johnson government should the likely new prime minister go for a no-deal Brexit. In an outspoken intervention just days before Johnson is expected to win the keys to Downing Street, the chancellor said it was “absolutely necessary” for the UK to extend its EU membership beyond 31 October.
