Boris Johnson is to spend a second night in intensive care but remains in “good spirits”, a spokesperson for Downing Street said on Tuesday evening. The prime minister was admitted to St Thomas' Hospital on Monday after his coronavirus symptoms worsened but was breathing on his own and has not required a ventilator. “The Prime Minister's condition is stable and he remains in intensive care for close monitoring. He is in good spirits.”

The statement from the official spokesman is as follows:
“He's been stable overnight and remains in good spirits. He is receiving standard oxygen treatment and is breathing without any other assistance. He has not required mechanical ventilation or non-invasive respiratory support.”
Earlier today, Michael Gove went into self-isolation after a family member fell ill, but tweets that he is “not displaying symptoms and am continuing to work as normal.
