Coronavirus in Ireland LIVE: All-island death toll hits 244 after 23 further fatalities as 700,000 on social welfare

THE all-island coronavirus death toll has reached 244 after a hike in deaths both sides of the border.
In the Republic, 16 more fatalities were confirmed while 7 passed away in Northern Ireland.

There are 4,994 coronavirus cases in Ireland Reuters
It means the Republic's death toll is now 174 while the North's stands at 70.
Overall, there are now 6,519 cases of coronavirus on the island.
Meanwhile, the Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection figures show more than 700,000 people are now availing of social welfare income...
