“Boris Johnson was last night moved to intensive care after his coronavirus symptoms worsened. The Prime Minister was admitted to the unit at St Thomas' Hospital in London at 7pm when his condition deteriorated. He was later given oxygen after suffering breathing difficulty, No 10 confirmed. Boris Johnson has spent the night in intensive care at a central London hospital after his coronavirus symptoms worsened.
The prime minister, 55, was initially admitted to St Thomas' Hospital for tests on Sunday evening as a ‘precaution' after experiencing a ‘persistent' fever and cough.
However, it was announced last night the Tory leader's condition had deteriorated over the course of Monday afternoon and he remains in the care of NHS staff in the ICU.
