Shaun Bailey suggested some people would blow the extra money on drugs
The Conservative candidate for London Mayor has been criticised for suggesting that some people would ‘buy lots of drugs' if they were given a Universal Basic Income .
Shaun Bailey's comments came as the capital's Greens and Liberal Democrats backed a trial of UBI, which would see everyone given a regular payment, regardless of how well off they are.
