Face coverings will be mandatory for passengers on public transport in England from June 15th, the government has announced.
Speaking at the Downing Street press conference, transport secretary Grant Shapps said surgical masks should be saved for clinical settings, but people on trains, buses, trams and other forms of public transport must wear face coverings to protect others around them.
Some people will be exempt from the new rules, including very young children, disabled people and those with breathing difficulties.
