A hotel in Tenerife has reportedly been placed in lockdown after a guest tested positive for coronavirus.
According to guests and local reports, around 1,000 people are now in lockdown at the H10 Costa Adeje Palace hotel.
The hotel denies it is under quarantine, although Canary Islands president Angel Victor Torres confirmed the ‘coronavirus protocol has been activated for an Italian tourist in the south of Tenerife.'
The patient in question is a doctor from the Lombardy region of Italy where several people have now died...

An Italian tourist on the Spanish island of Tenerife has tested positive for the coronavirus and has been isolated, according to Spanish health authorities .
The 1,000 people staying in the same hotel as him have since been put in a mandatory quarantine.
They are stuck in the Hotel H10 Costa Adeje Palace, not far from the Atlantic Ocean.
Europe is struggling with outbreaks of the coronavirus. Italy is by far the worst-hit , with more than 200 people infected.

A hotel in the Canary Islands has been put under quarantine after an Italian doctor staying there tested positive for coronavirus. The H10 Adeje Palace hotel in Tenerife was put on lockdown on Tuesday morning, with Spanish media reporting that as many as 1,000 tourists staying at the complex are not being allowed to leave. The doctor - who is reportedly from Lombardy in northern Italy - was on holiday when he was diagnosed with Covid-19. He is now being kept in isolation in hospital. His diagnosis comes amid a battle by authorities in northern Italy to limit an outbreak of coronavirus...
