Long Lost Family: Brother and sister abandoned as babies reunite 50 years later in emotional episode

Long-lost siblings David and Helen have reunited after 50 years
A brother and sister abandoned as newborn babies reunited 50 years later in a searingly emotional episode of Long Lost Family : Born Without Trace.
On a freezing January morning in 1962, David McBride was found in a tartan bag on the front seat of a car parked near a police station in Belfast.
Six years later, Helen Ward was discovered - also in a tartan bag - on the other side of the Irish border in a telephone box in Dundalk.
Both were well fed and cared for in the weeks before they were abandoned and both were adopted by loving families.
However, they felt like a piece was still missing and applied to the ITV series, Long Lost Family, where it was revealed through an online DNA database that they are, in fact, full brother and sister.
The siblings, who both have children of their own and had no idea the other existed, sobbed as they met for the first time on the border of northern and southern Ireland.
