Responding to Apple's move to recall some specific models of 15-inch MacBook Pro, the FAA has banned select models from flights, due to their batteries being a fire risk.

The FAA isn't the only organisation banning these laptops. According to Bloomberg , the European Union Aviation Safety Agency has also warned airlines about these models, leading to a handful of European airlines launching a blanket ban on all 15-inch MacBook Pros from 2015-2017. Some MacBook Pro 15-inch models have been branded a fire risk by the US Federal Aviation Administration , and therefore you won't be able to take them on board an airplane. You may remember that back in June, Apple initiated a recall for certain MacBook Pro 15-inch laptops sold between September 2015 and February 2017 for a battery replacement. At the time, the company noted that these portables could contain a battery that might overheat and pose a ‘safety risk'.
