Ben & Jerry's is calling on Americans to combat white supremacy amid protests, after a Black man was killed by a police officer.
"The murder of George Floyd was the result of inhumane police brutality that is perpetuated by a culture of white supremacy," Ben & Jerry's said in a statement notably more forceful than other brands.
Ben & Jerry's has been campaigning against racial inequality for years, supporting reparations for African Americans, publishing articles on progressive topics, and debuting new flavors like the anti-Trump Pecan Resist.

AOC called out Amazon for posting a 'bland statement' supporting George Floyd protesters while maintaining contracts with police

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez called out Amazon for posting a "bland statement" in support of George Floyd protesters while selling its technology to police departments and ICE.
Amazon published a statement Friday that decried the "inequitable and brutal treatment of Black people in our country" but did not specifically mention police or law enforcement.
Over 1,000 police departments across the US have partnerships with Ring, the doorbell security camera company owned by Amazon. Amazon also markets its facial recognition software to police departments and ICE.
