Online lectures would have been a saviour to me - don't slam them just yet

Cambridge University has announced that all lectures will be online until summer 2021 , as a response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
For many soon-to-be freshers, this will be a disappointing update following the University of Manchester's decision to implement virtual lectures during the first semester.
Don't get me wrong, this news makes my stomach turn (I'm sure we can all agree, change is scary).
But as we wave goodbye to normal life and education as we know it, am I the only one who thinks virtual university may actually be for the better?
