A police watchdog report found speed cameras appeared to be located in areas deemed ‘good hunting grounds' for fines
Speed cameras are being used to make money rather than prevent accidents, with some locations chosen because they are ‘good hunting grounds for fines', according to a police watchdog.
A wide-ranging review of roads policing released on Wednesday found that drug drivers were ‘tolerated' and the use of breathalyser tests had slumped yet the number of fixed-penalty tickets issued for excessive speed had risen sharply in recent years.
