A car crashed into a gate of the German chancellery building in Berlin - Chancellor Angela Merkel's office - on Wednesday morning, multiple media outlets reported .
In a picture taken by Reuters, police can be seen securing the area and searching the car with dogs. The gate and the car are damaged, but the vehicle did not breach the barrier.
Pictures of the scene also show the car was covered in slogans. “Stop politics of globalization,” it says on one side, and on the other: “You damn murderers of children and old people.”

A car has been seen crashing into the gate of the office of German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Berlin this morning, according to eye-witnesses.
There were no immediate reports of casualties.
Merkel was scheduled to be hosting a video conference of German state premiers on Wednesday morning, at which an extension to the lockdown and further steps to combat the coronavirus pandemic were due to be discussed.
