The National Fire Chiefs Council says using sky lanterns could put more pressure on the NHS
Fire bosses have put out an urgent plea for Britons to not light sky lanterns tonight, as the country prepares to honour NHS workers with the third ‘Clap for Carers'.
Some companies have attempted to market the lanterns as a good way to show support for healthcare staff, along with clapping, cheering and banging pots and pans together.
