People are being encouraged to eat out in August with a new government discount
Rishi Sunak has announced that every Brit will be given 50% discounts at restaurants in a new scheme, named ‘eat out to help out', aimed at helping save the hospitality industry.
Announcing the initiative at Wednesday's ‘mini-Budget', the Chancellor explained: ‘To get customers back into restaurants, cafes and pubs and protect the 1.8 million people who work in them, I can announce today that for the month of August we will give everyone in the country an “eat out to help out” discount.'

UK Chancellor Rishi Sunak announced a kickstart scheme to pay firms to hire young people and confirmed a new £2 billion green homes grant. The UK will cut stamp duty on house purchases of up to £500,000 and the scheme will run till March 31. The government will invest an extra £1 billion in work and pensions department to support unemployed.
Sunak's spending plans provided a modest boost to the British pound and lifted the GBP/USD pair back closer to daily tops, around the 1.2560-65 region.
