Elon Musk cited convicted pedophiles such as 'Jared the Subway guy' and Gary Glitter when explaining why he was suspicious of Vernon Unsworth for living in Thailand

Tesla CEO Elon Musk is currently fighting a defamation lawsuit brought by the British cave diver Vernon Unsworth, who Musk called a "pedo guy" in a tweet last year.
According to extensive new court filings on Monday, p art of Musk's defense is that "pedo guy" was not meant to be taken literally, but rather as synonymous with "creepy."
Musk said in a deposition that Unsworth was suspicious by virtue of being an "old angry white guy living in Thailand," and cited the cases of Jared Fogle and Gary Glitter - both convicted of child pornography and having sex with minors - as examples.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk said in court filings on Monday that he did not intend to describe cave diver Vernon Unsworth as a literal pedophile when he called him "pedo guy" on Twitter last year. Musk is currently fighting a defamation case in the US brought by Unsworth, who is based in Thailand.
Musk claimed in the filings that calling someone "pedo" was a "common insult" in South Africa, where he grew up, and that it was an insult to someone's appearance rather than an accusation.
