AN Army sergeant has today been found guilty of attempted murder after trying to sabotage his wife's parachute.
Emile Cilliers, 38, was convicted at a retrial in Winchester Crown Court, where he was also accused of sabotaging a gas valve at their home in a botched murder plot.
His wife Victoria Cilliers suffered near-fatal injuries when her main and reserve parachutes failed during a jump at the Army Parachute Association at Netheravon, Wiltshire, on Easter Sunday 2015.
Cilliers was desperate to cash in on her life insurance to pay off his bills - and start a new life with his young lover...
