An Italian court in Bergamo sentenced Senator Roberto Calderoli of the far-right League to 18 months in jail for aggravated racist comments against the country's first black minister.
Calderoli called Cécile Kyenge, who served as integration minister under Enrico Letta's government from 2013 to 2014, “an orangutan” at a party event in July 2013, according to Italian newspaper La Repubblica .
