LONDON - The anti-Brexit Liberal Democrats have elected Jo Swinson as their first female leader.
A business minister during the 2010-2015 coalition government, who has been serving as deputy leader since June 2017, Swinson won the contest with 47,997 votes from the Lib Dem membership.
Runner-up Ed Davey, a former energy secretary during the Conservative-led coalition administration, won 28,021 votes.
