The former chancellor took aim at the prime minister's adviser Dominic Cummings
Sajid Javid has launched a thinly-veiled attack on the Prime Minister's adviser, following his bombshell resignation as chancellor.
The Conservative backbencher also claimed Boris Johnson 's move to take greater control of the Treasury is not in the national interest.
Mr Javid used a personal statement in the Commons today to spell out why he felt forced to quit the Cabinet after being given an ultimatum to sack all his special advisers in favour of a joint Number 10-Number 11 team. Ahead of next month's...

Andrew Gimson's PMQs sketch: Remember, Johnson, you are mortal

The House heard him in silence, wondering if it...

Sajid Javid Hits Out At Boris Johnson Over Demands He Fire Staff

1 month ago   |   By Huffington Post

Sajid Javid has accused Boris Johnson of acting against the “national interest” when the prime minister demanded he sack his advisers. Javid quit dramatically quit as chancellor earlier this month rather than accept the ultimatum. Speaking in the Commons on Wednesday, Javid said the demand would have prevented him from “speaking truth to power”. “It has always been the case that advisers advise, minsters decide and minsters decide on their advisers,” he said in a speech from the backbenches. With Johnson listening from the frontbenches, Javid added: “I believe that the arrangements...
