Hockenheim and Mugello are reportedly on standby if Formula 1 is forced to extend its European leg of revised 2020 schedule.
Formula 1 has officially confirmed the first eight races of the new 2020 campaign which will be run over a 10-week period starting from July 5 with back-to-back races in Austria.
Hungary will then form part of a quick-fire triple-header before there is a two-week break until the first of two races at Silverstone. That will be the traditional British Grand Prix and the second event will be known as the 70th Anniversary Grand Prix.

A brand new Formula 1 2020 calendar has been devised ahead of a return to action.
Eight races have been confirmed, including a double-header at Silverstone, as the motorsport championship prepares to finally kick-start the season.
The Australian Grand Prix should have hosted the opening race of the 2020 calendar in March, but was cancelled on the eve of practice after one of the F1 team members fell ill with the virus.
The latest news of a revised calendar will bring a spot of joy to fans around the world who will be longing for a slice of their favourite sport.

Formula One is back in July
The Formula 1 season is set to get underway on 5 July in Austria, with the first eight races not confirmed to be held across six tracks and nine weeks.
There has been no Formula 1 at all this season, with all Grand Prix curtailed by the coronavirus pandemic, but racing is set to spring back into action with a double-header at Spielberg in Austria.
There will be three straight weekends of action, with Budapest hosting on 19 July, before a two-week break and then another double-header at Silverstone.

FORMULA 1 has confirmed the first eight races of the 2020 season - including a double-header at Silverstone.
The sport was thrown into turmoil when having to abandon the Australian Grand Prix in March, on the eve of the new campaign, due to the coronavirus pandemic.
But racing will finally get underway in Austria on July 5.
