Hasenhuttl pleased with Arsenal scalp but two Southampton issues rankle

1 month ago   |   By Team Talk

Manager Ralph Hasenhuttl feels there is still much to work on despite Southampton's 1-0 FA Cup fourth-round victory over Arsenal.
Gabriel's 24th-minute own goal saw Saints progress to the fifth round of the competition. They were worthy winners against a Gunners side that were on snooze mode until the final 15 minutes.
Mikel Arteta's men bossed the end of the match but could not find a way through a resolute Southampton rearguard. There were chances at both ends and the hosts were denied a spot kick late on.
The boss was pleased with what he saw but felt his men should have finished the...

Gabriel deflection helps Southampton dump Arsenal out of FA Cup

Gabriel deflection helps Southampton dump Arsenal out of FA Cup

Arsenal have shrugged off the “cup team” tag for now, but not in the way they would have wanted. Their hopes of retaining the trophy are over after a first-half own goal by Gabriel won this tie for Southampton, who deserved to book a fifth-round trip to Wolves even if they were required to hold on as the minutes ticked down. Southampton 1-0 Arsenal: Holders knocked out by Saints

1 month ago   |   By Football365

Holders Arsenal were sent crashing out of the FA Cup as a Gabriel Magalhaes own goal gave Southampton a deserved win in their fourth-round tie on the south coast.

Southampton should have won by a bigger margin but now face a trip to Wolves in round five as Gabriel's poor return to the Arsenal side was capped by accidentally deciding the tie in favour of the hosts.
GOSSIP: Man...

Video: These Arsenal fans convinced they were ‘robbed' of penalty in FA Cup defeat to Southampton after handball claim on Walker-Peters

1 month ago   |   By CaughtOffside

Some Arsenal fans are convinced that they've been ‘robbed' of their chance to defend their FA Cup trophy after an incident in the 68th minute of this afternoon's defeat to Southampton.
A cross from the right-wing floated in, with Nicolas Pepe coming in from behind to challenge Kyle Walker-Peters in the air.
The duel saw the ball smash off of the Spurs academy graduate's arm, the ace's arm was outstretched but no penalty was awarded and the commentary team - including Arsenal legend Martin Keown - agreed with this stance.
Whilst the ball clearly struck that area, it's evident that...
