A RAILCARD that gives veterans discounted rail travel is to be launched on Armistice Day, November 11.
The card will give over 830,000 veterans a third off rail fares as part of a new government strategy to support former servicemen and women and their families.

The railcard will cover the standard T's and C's that apply to all current rail cards, however the veterans card also covers any spouse or family that are travelling with the card holder too.

Veterans railcard set to be launched on Armistice Day

It is hoped that the new railcard can give military veterans a jobs boost and bring them closer to family and friends
A new railcard for military veterans will be launched in November, the government has announced.
The railcard will give more than 830,000 veterans who do not qualify for existing discounts a third off most trains.
The Department for Transport said certain restrictions will apply and that the card will be available to buy from November 11 - Armistice Day - and cost £21 for an introductory period, before the price is increased to £30.
