When Keir Starmer was elected leader of the Labour Party in April, a photograph circulated on Twitter of the 2014 ceremony in which he was knighted, in recognition of his services to law and criminal justice. The picture shows him kneeling in front of Prince Charles who is lowering a sword to his shoulder. One of the politer comments read: “Here is the leader of the biggest socialist party in Europe... Sticking it to the elites”.
