Sony has announced there will be no PlayStation 5 reveal event this week, with no indication of when it will be rescheduled.
It had begun to seem inevitable, but Sony has now confirmed that there will be no PlayStation 5 reveal event on Thursday, as originally planned.
In a short post on Twitter they alluded to the ongoing protests in America over racial inequality and the death of George Floyd, stating that, ‘we do not feel that right now is a time for celebration'.

Sony is postponing a PlayStation 5 event originally set for 4 June. The delay is in response to the protests happening across the US following the death of George Floyd in Minnesota. “While we understand gamers worldwide are excited to see PS5 games, we do not feel that right now is a time for celebration,” Sony shared on Twitter on Monday.
