Coronavirus in Ireland LIVE - Face masks to be mandatory on public transport with fines or jail for non-compliance

MEMBERS of the public who refuse to wear a face covering on public transport will face fines of €2,500 or six months in jail when new regulations come into force on Monday.
Under the new regulations, people will not be allowed to stay on buses or trains without a face covering , and the National Transport Authority and gardai will have powers to refuse people if they disobey.
Face masks will be mandatory from Monday
However, The National Bus and Rail Union has said their members will not be policing the new rule.
