Former Conmebol president among executives named Jack Warner allegedly received $5m to back Russia 2018 Prosecutors in New York have revealed new details of alleged bribes paid to Fifa executive committee members to gain their votes for Qatar to host the 2022 World Cup. An indictment unsealed on Monday in the US District Court in Brooklyn says Nicolás Leoz, the Paraguayan then president of the South American governing body, Conmebol, and the former Brazil federation president Ricardo Teixeira received bribes to vote for Qatar at the 2010 Fifa executive committee meeting.

Journalist Tariq Panja has shockingly taken to Twitter to reveal a US indictment that was published earlier tonight that states FIFA executives were bribed in order to vote in favour of the Russia and Qatar World Cups.
As per Off The Ball, the original subject of the indictment regards former Fox executives paying bribes in order to secure broadcast rights to the Copa Libertadores.
